First, and Foremost in any Industrial operations is to ensure the water used for Boiler Feed or Make-Up cooling water are as per the requirement & specification provided by the original equipment Manufacturer/Supplier to prevent damage to the equipment and or corrosion, which may at times result in failure of the equipment or can also be a safety risk, thereby causing accident, which can also affect the workmen in or near the shop floor.There essential regular test that needs to be carried out for cooling water make-up of Boiler Feed are pH, Phosphate, Chloride, Sulphate, Total Hardness, TDS, Hydrate Alkalinity, Oxygen & Chemical content, Neutralized conductivity etc. These are necessary to ensure optimum performance of the equipment’s used in the process by preventing slim formation, corrosion, and or carryover of contaminant, if any, to the products manufactured.
